Baylor Religion Survey
The purpose of the Baylor Religion Survey (BRS) is to provide quantitative data concerning religion, health and community in America today. In partnership with the Gallup Organization, this national survey is conducted every five years. In 2025, wave 7 of the BRS was completed, marking the 20th Anniversary of the project.
Center for Community Research and Development
Students gain hands-on experience in applied research through the Baylor Center for Community Research and Development (CCRD). The CCRD employs a wide range of social science methods, partnering with clients from Baylor, the Waco area, and beyond. The CCRD encourages Baylor faculty and students to pursue projects that bring out positive change in organizations and communities. Through this work, students also gain practical skills in grant writing and in communicating research findings to diverse audiences.
Faculty Research
Our faculty are accomplished scholars, regularly publishing in leading academic journals and receiving funding from top public and private sources. Beyond academia, we’re making a broader impact. Our faculty’s research has been featured in prominent media outlets such as Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and USA Today. And our “Values and Beliefs of the American Public Survey” is uncovering novel trends in religion, politics, family life, and more, influencing public conversations on these critical topics.
