The Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta is an active and distinguished honor society in the Baylor University Department of Sociology. Certified by the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) in 1967 and affiliated with the American Sociological Association (ASA), AKD seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in the scholarship in sociology, the research of social problems, and other activities that will lead to improvement in the human condition. Founded on November 12, 1920, by Dr. Emory S. Bogardus at the University of Southern California, AKD is over 100 years old!
