Graduate Program Admissions

Requirements

For admission to the Doctoral Program in Sociology, the department requires:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Three (3) letters of recommendation
Statement of purpose, including academic/research area of interest
Resume or Curriculum Vita
Writing sample (your best and most recent academic writing)
Transcript(s) from all institutions of higher learning the applicant has attended
Completed Application through the Graduate School

For international students, we also require the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE exam. Minimum scores for each exam are listed below:

550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam, 213 on the computer-based exam, or 80 on the Internet-based exam
6.5 on the IELTS
58 on the PTE

Application Deadline

Applications are due on January 15 and are for fall admittance only.
