Scholarship Funds
Charles M. and Jean Furr Tolbert Scholarship Fund in Sociology
The help provided through this student scholarship fund enables students who desire to work in a sociology-related field to be trained and educated by professors who practice what they teach. It is in honor of Charles Tolbert, who taught and helped to guide students majoring in sociology and chaired the department for many years, and Jean Furr Tolbert, who served Baylor as a librarian 1964-1990. Charles Logan McGehee Endowed Scholarship for Sociology
The funds provided through this scholarship will be given to students pursuing a degree in the Department of Sociology, with preference given to those who have demonstrated significant financial need and are first-generation college students. The scholarship was established by Charles McGehee (BA ’58) of Ellensburg, Washington.

Sociology Department Endowed Scholarship Fund
The funds provided through this scholarship will be given to a sociology student based on academic merit.
Sociology Department Endowed Scholarship Fund
Excellence Funds
Sociology Excellence Fund
This fund supports initiatives within the department that are not covered within the annual operating budget. The Department Chair has discretion over how to use these funds to promote department goals.

Sociology Endowed Excellence Fund
This fund supports undergraduate and graduate student research, including summer research stipends, travel to professional meetings, and equipment to support student research.
Give to the Sociology Endowed Excellence Fund
Kathryn and Kenneth Mueller Endowment Fund
This fund supports student research and honors the legacy of Kathryn “Kay” Mueller (BA ’75, MA ’77) and Kenneth Mueller (MS ’69). The Muellers established this fund to support students in the Department of Sociology, where Kay served as Lecturer and Senior Lecturer for 41 years until her retirement in 2019.
