Biography
Dr. Mackenzie Brewer received her Ph.D. from Rice University and joined the Baylor faculty in 2018. Her research and teaching interests include medical sociology, children and youth, and social stratification. Her work examines social and economic factors that shape health behaviors and health outcomes for adults and children. Some of her current research considers the link between religious involvement and household food insecurity. Her recent work also examines the impact of consumer debt on child and family well-being.
