Biography
Kyra Neill is a third-year doctoral student in the Community Analytics concentration. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA and her Master of Arts in Sociology from Baylor University. Her primary research interests focus on women in the context of the American criminal justice system. Specifically, she has examined gender differences in views of punitiveness, and in the future seeks to evaluate women’s access to religious services while incarcerated. As part of the Center for Community Research and Development (CCRD) at Baylor, she also partners with the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty (BCHP) to research means of combatting hunger and food insecurity among children. Current research includes evaluating the Emergency Meals to You project with BCHP and the United States Department of Agriculture.
In her free time, she enjoys beekeeping, true crime dramas, and Pittsburgh sports.
