Biography
Rachel is a fourth-year student in the Sociology PhD program. She earned both her BA and MPA at the University of Oklahoma. Her BA focused on Nonprofit Management and Small Business Management. During graduate school she concentrated on the intersection of Public Administration, bureaucratic processes and the Nonprofit Sector. During her graduate career, Rachel was intrigued by urban issues and its interactions with the Nonprofit Sector and the opportunities to foster efficient communication between institutions. This interest led her to the Center for Community Research and Development at Baylor.
Rachel’s areas of study are the Nonprofit Sector, Public Administration, policy, community, civic engagement, and urban issues. She presently studies civic engagement in communities within the United States.
