Contemplative Pedagogy is an approach to teaching and learning that encourages deep learning through facilitating focused attention, reflection, and heightened awareness. There is evidence that contemplative pedagogy not only serves to enhance students’ capacity to learn course content across multiple disciplines, but it can also transform the ways in which students learn about and understand the world leading to greater compassion, creativity, and connection. This SET will explore research on the value of infusing contemplative pedagogical practices in the classroom. Participants will also receive instruction on how to use specific contemplative pedagogical practices in their own classrooms based on experiences with Baylor students.
