SET: Conversations and Clarity in AI Usage
Sharon Gripp (Journalism, Public Relations, and New Media)
This event is hybrid:
In-person: Moody 104 (Active Learning Lab)
Online: Zoom link will be sent to registrants
This session will help faculty set student parameters for AI use, share ways to identify common characteristics in AI generated content, and share tips on having productive discussions with students who have used AI outside of established guidelines. As we navigate this new landscape, a few intentional instructional moves can help reframe both our and our students’ interactions with AI and stress student learning over enforcing rules. Participants will leave the session with practices and materials to incorporate in their own courses as well as ways to start conversations with colleagues about disciplinary, departmental, or professional guidelines for AI use in teaching.
